"I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I swam, ran cross country and track throughout high school and university, and was awarded a year long Thomas J. Watson Fellowship to study swimming around the world after graduating from uni - traveling to 7 different countries (New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Germany, and England) where I lived with swimming families and worked as a assistant coach visiting over 40 different swimming clubs/programs."
"After coaching full time a year in Atlanta, I returned to Australia to coach and married Aussie swim coach Gary Toner. Together we managed Gosford Olympic pool on Central Coast NSW running programs from babies to a high performance squad. In 2000, we took an opportunity to move to America where we have been (Cincinnati, Ohio) for the last 15 years running swimming pools and aquatic programs. The Toners recently returned to Australia and are very happy to be living near the beach again - No more shovelling snow in winter! Gary and I have 2 children - Georgia who is 18 and studying at The University of the Sunshine Coast, and Tom who just turned 16 and is in year 11 here on the Sunny Coast."
"I am both a Silver Level Coach and Swim Australia Certified Swimming Instructor - I have taught learn to swim and has coached swimmers to both national and international levels. I particularly enjoy the "teaching" part of coaching and have specialized in Open Water Swimming, Adult Squads, and the transition from learn to swim to squad level (Marlins!). I'm delighted to have found a new swimming "home" with Caloundra Aquatic Lifestyle Centre and am looking forward to teaching, coaching and encouraging a life long love of the water."
